The Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Exam (SSC CGL) is a popular competitive exam in India conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). This exam is conducted annually to recruit eligible candidates for various posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Indian Government.

SYLLABUS
The syllabus for SSC CGL exam is designed to test the candidates’ knowledge and aptitude in various areas. The syllabus for each stage of the exam is as follows:
Tier-I Exam: The Tier-I exam is an online computer-based test and comprises of four sections with a total of 100 questions. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes. The syllabus for the Tier-I exam is as follows:
General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning, etc.
General Awareness: History, culture, geography, economic scene, general policy, scientific research, etc.
Quantitative Aptitude: Computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, percentages, ratio and proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, partnership business, mixture and allegation, time and distance, time & work, basic algebraic identities of School Algebra, etc.
English Comprehension: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One-word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage, etc.
Tier-II Exam: The Tier-II exam is also an online computer-based test and comprises of four sections with a total of 500 questions. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes. The syllabus for the Tier-II exam is as follows:
Quantitative Aptitude: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, and Data Interpretation.
English Language and Comprehension: Comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, etc.
Statistics: Collection, Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data, Measures of Central Tendency, Measures of Dispersion, Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, Probability Theory, Random Variable and Probability Distributions, Sampling Theory, Statistical Inference, Analysis of Variance, Time Series Analysis, Index Numbers, etc.
General Studies (Finance & Economics): Economics and Governance, Finance, and Accounting.
Tier-III Exam: The Tier-III exam is a descriptive test conducted offline and comprises of essay writing, letter writing, and precise writing. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
Tier-IV Exam: The Tier-IV exam comprises of Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Skill Test. The CPT is conducted for candidates applying for Assistant Section Officer (CSS), Assistant Section Officer (MEA), and Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs posts. The Skill Test is conducted for candidates applying for Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax) posts.
